NiuMedia Pacific was established by Dr C.E.P. Val Haynes, CEO and Managing Director of NiuMedia Pacific Pty Ltd from 1995 till 2006.
Dr Haynes was born in St Vincent in the West Indies. He completed his secondary education in Barbados and attended the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill Campus where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree. He won a British Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship (1974) which took him to Oxford University where he completed a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and Bachelor of Civil Law. Dr Haynes was also called to the Degree of Utter Barrister by Lincoln's Inn in 1977.
He then took up an appointment at the University of Malawi and the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG). He was Dean of the Law Faculty and Head of the Law Department of UPNG in 1982 and 1983.
Dr Haynes held a PhD from the Australian National University (ANU), and was admitted to practice law in several jurisdictions including Barbados, Papua New Guinea, and Australian jurisdictions (including Tasmania).
Dr Haynes held a Senior Lectureship in the Law Faculty at the University of Tasmania. His main research and teaching interest was in Property law and Company law. He had a special interest in computers and the law and intellectual property law.
Dr Haynes carried out several consultancies, including consultancies for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), consultancies on World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Australian Agency for International Development (AIDAB and AusAID) projects.
Sadly Dr Haynes passed away in 2006, and Mieneke van Driel took over as Managing Director of NiuMedia Pacific

Mieneke van Driel was born in the Netherlands (Holland) and educated there and in South Africa. She holds a BA degree from the University of Pretoria. Mieneke has been in the publishing business since 1994, and has been actively involved with the management of NiuMedia Pacific since the formation of the company in 1995.
